Once I left high school, I talked to my folks and I told them I wanted to be a Heating, Ventilation & A/C professional. I was sure Heating, Ventilation & A/C technical university was a great choice for me. The problem was that I had changed my mind so often that my folks didn’t want to throw away their money if I was going to change my mind again. They agreed Heating, Ventilation and A/C was an ideal choice, but they wanted me to think about it before making any moves. I looked at them like they had gone bonkers. I wanted to go to Heating, Ventilation & A/C school, and they weren’t doling out the money. I asked my folks if they didn’t want me to go to college to be an Heating, Ventilation & A/C professional. After sitting me down, they reminded me of all the money they put out when I wanted to get an instrument, then quit the band after my first lesson. My folks reminded me what happened when I wanted to wrestle. They paid for the outfit and took me to all the practices. After my first match, I walked out and would not even stay to watch the rest of the matches. This happened at least twice a year, and they weren’t taking me seriously. Two weeks later, I came to them and told my folks I knew what I wanted to do. I said I still wanted to go to Heating, Ventilation and A/C technical university. It was a work that had longevity and would have job security. I could also pay them back by doing free Heating, Ventilation and A/C work for us when I got hired. They gave me a blank check made out to the community college.
