I practiced taking the air filter out and putting it back in

When I moved into my apartment, I was informed that my only responsibility to the Heating, Ventilation & A/C system was changing the air filters in the Heating, Ventilation & A/C system.

They gave me air filters, and they showed me how to install them.

The only question I had they hadn’t answered was how often do I change the air filter? I called the main office and requested them to send the maintenance person to my apartment. When he arrived, I asked him how often I changed the air filters. He smiled and told me to change every six to eight weeks. If the air filters were filthy, then I can do that every four to six weeks. Whenever I ran out of air filters, all I had to do was call him. Before he left, he made me smile. He said I was the first renter who was conscientious enough to ask him how often you change the air filter. Most of the time, the next call he got was because the Heating, Ventilation and A/C system wasn’t working, and it was because they hadn’t changed the air filters. He was excited to have a renter in the building who cared enough to ask questions. After he left, I opened the compartment where the air filter was and practiced taking the air filter out and putting it back in. When it came time to change the air filter, I wanted to know what I was doing. No one is going to think I’m not doing the task they asked me to do. Besides, I like clean air in my home.
