The HVAC technician came to my house this past Monday.
It was the annual air conditioning tune up that he was here to complete.
Getting HVAC maintenance has sort of been a rite of Spring since I was a kid. I grew up inside central air conditioning when I was a kid. But my dad was so proud to have central air conditioning as he grew up without it. I can’t imagine growing up in this region without the benefit of residential HVAC. For sure, I could get away with just a space heater during the Winter. Yet spending an entire Summer without any cooling comfort coming from the heat pump would be unmanageable for me. So like my dad, I leave all the HVAC service and repair to the HVAC professionals. However, I’ve yet to ever have to call for a repair. And honestly, I don’t ever remember the air conditioning having to be repaired in my dad’s house either. The reason for this is consistent, seasonal HVAC maintenance. When we bought this house, we had to replace the heating and cooling equipment. Since the day that HVAC unit was installed, we’ve made very sure to provide that heat pump with heating maintenance in the Fall. And of course, the air conditioning tune up in the Spring. Not only does HVAC maintenance help avoid an HVAC repair, it adds so much longevity to the HVAC equipment. and, I know that my heat pump is prepared for the big air conditioning demand that is about to happen. It won’t be long now until the air conditioning is on more than it’s not. So having HVAC maintenance also helps with maximizing the efficiency of the heat pump as well.
