Before graduation, he had this system in his head that once he got that diploma, some magical door would open and he would find a superb job; however well, of course we all think that is not how it works. But unluckily, high school is actually just a basic education. It is absolutely necessary to get some kind of post-secondary education after high school, whether it be school or a program at a tech school or job postminuteary school. Well, Gerry fell in love with the system of becoming the “A/C guy” around town, so he enrolled in the heating and air conditioning training program and promptly registered for the state heating and air conditioning certification. But once he got that, his heating and air conditioning teachers helped him get a task with a reputable heating and air conditioning company in their little city, and Gerry was glad as a clam. Then the people I work with and I all know, though, that it actually becomes necessary to do everything possible to secure your position and transport up in the world. But for Gerry, it seemed that a single of the most important things he could do was join the labor union for heating and cooling workers, and his manager encouraged him to do so, and he even volunteered on some of their committees. Once he joined the labor union, Gerry finally earned even more credibility, and he was able to show off some of his leadership skills and learn even more than just how to service an air conditioning unit. Gerry’s heating and air conditioning task was opening up a whole new world for him.
