Mom and dad have a routine in their lives now that we no longer live at home.
- They both run a small farm and sell produce at the local farmers market.
This is something mom started doing when our last born was in high school. She didn’t want to be at home idle, so she started growing vegetables for the family. Soon, she was producing more that we could consume, and a friend suggested selling at the farmers market. It wasn’t easy to get a stand since these are in high demand. But, mom applied, and she was lucky to get one a year later. Dad would help her out when he was home from work, and this became something they loved to do together. When dad retired from his job, he joined mom full time and they were able to scale up the business. Now, they are at the market each week, except for two weeks in December during the holidays. Last summer, they got home from the farmers market and found the cooling system had failed. Mom walked into the house and was met with a warm blast of air which she wasn’t expecting. She stumbled back, and dad went to see why she had almost lost her footing. Then he realized the cooling system wasn’t working because the house was hot and humid. Dad took his phone out and phoned the HVAC business in town. They have been using the same HVAC business for 2 decades and they love their services. Mom and dad were sure they’d send an HVAC expert over to inspect the faulty cooling system.
