I am pondering moving back to my hometown to be around my herd at the end of this year, but not sure I can go back to that rat race after living in this peaceful town for so many years now.
I haven’t driven a car here in eight years and really like the simplicity of life here, as opposed to the nonstop frantic pace back home where life seems to get pushed along faster than we like.
I just miss my family and old heating and cooling rep friends back home, so I need to decide this year if Europe will be my home from now on or if I will go back to my hometown to ride out my remaining years. I think that music is going to decide for me my fate as my band is hanging in the balance between success and failure at the moment. My bandmate, who I met while working on a commercial HVAC system one day, is really depressed a lot and I don’t know if he is going to have the gumption to get himself out of this episodic rut he’s been in since we met two years ago. I can’t play with someone who is so sad all of the time, so these next several months will be my deciding factor as to whether I stay here and pursue music or move back home to be with my heating and cooling tech buddies and work for the local contractor for a few more years. I guess time tells you what to do and not the opposite.
