The other day when I was at the grocery store, I was looking for my husband’s favorite ice cream. While I was looking at the different flavors, I heard two people talking about how their HVAC system was failing and they had poor air quality. I decided to talk to them to offer some advice. I told them that if the air quality was bad in their home, they needed to make sure to change their air filters regularly. The guy said he changed the air filters, but then I asked him what kind of air filters he used. He just shrugged and said that he usually got whatever was on sale. I knew that was part of the problem because it sounded like he was going for the cheapest air filters he could find. I told the couple that it would be worth it investing in high quality air filters that are designed to remove all the contaminants from the air. I told them the best air filters to get were HEPA air filters. The guy said the HEPA air filters were way too expensive, but I said they were cheaper if he chose to buy them online. I also said it would be a good idea to get regular HVAC system maintenance to make sure there were no developing issues with the HVAC system. I said if they were to get on an HVAC service plan, they could have all of their HVAC system maintenance covered for a low yearly rate. They thanked me for my advice. Now it’s really up to them if they actually follow my advice.
