The roof was caving into the ductwork

It has been raining a lot recently and although we need the rain, I wish that we had not got so much of it all at once.

All of the trees and the grass looks greener than I have ever seen and all of the animals have come out of hibernation to enjoy the water.

Unfortunately, there hasn’t been any sunshine. Every day we have received at least an inch of rain and that has been tough on the house. I noticed there was a spot on the roof that was dark, when I was driving home from work a couple of days ago. I thought that I would have a chance to look at the roof that evening, but things got busy and I didn’t have a chance to look at the roof again until 2 days later. When I went into the attic to see if the damage was bad, I saw that the roof was actually caving into the ductwork. There was a spot where the roof was touching the ventilation system and I was worried that it was going to fall in completely. I didn’t want to pay for an expensive roof repair and have to replace duct work at the same time. I decided to grab an old tarp that I had in the garage. I knew that it was worn and tattered, but it would keep most of the area dry for now. My wife didn’t want me to get up on the ladder while it was raining, but that’s what needed to happen. I put a sandbag on each one of the corners of the tarp. Hopefully it will stop raining soon so I can call someone to help.
