I thought air filters were supposed to help eliminate odor and keep the air in the best condition.
- My air filters were doing nothing to eliminate pet odor.
I called the Heating, Ventilation & A/C company and told them there was lots of pet dander in the air, and the air filters weren’t doing anything to help. The Heating, Ventilation & A/C professional came to the apartment and asked how many animals I had in the lake house. There were seven dogs, six cats, and a gerbil. He said that was quite a load to put on the Heating, Ventilation & A/C system, and on my air filters. He tested the air filter and asked when I changed it. It had only been a month, and the air filter was restrained with pet hairs. The Heating, Ventilation & A/C professional suggested I get a media air cleaner installed. It would help with the odors, and keep some of the pet dander from getting into the house. I had to keep my animals off the air vents, which would keep the pet hair from floating. His third recommendation was to get air filters that are made for pet owners. These special air filters were made with a finer filtering material that would keep the pet hair from getting through. They were expensive, but they would save me cleaning, and help with the odors that came with pets. After the Heating, Ventilation & A/C professional left, I wasn’t satisfied. I thought he was going to make repairs that would change the odor and the flying pet hair, but all I got was suggestions from him. I wasted money calling the Heating, Ventilation & A/C company.
