He was one of their greatest competitors
Mom and dad owned one of the local Heating, Ventilation & A/C businesses. Personally, I thought they were the best Heating, Ventilation & A/C professionals in the world, but I was a bit prejudiced. Because they owned a Heating, Ventilation as well as A/C company, I thought I would not need to go to university. I asked them why they could not just put me into the certification classes, but it didn’t work that way. Mom and dad said you had to have a professor who would show you all the ropes. Even though I may know more than the Heating, Ventilation & A/C techs who came in under an apprenticeship, there were several things taught at the school that I needed to know. I was sure I could just be a Heating, Ventilation & A/C professional without going through classes, but I was wrong. Mom and dad got me into the next Heating, Ventilation and A/C class provided by the community university. I knew the professor the minute he walked into the classroom. I hadn’t seen my uncle for almost two years, and here he was teaching the HVAC class I was attending. He didn’t even let on that he knew me, but went through the introductions. After class, my uncle told me he was cheerful to see a friendly face. When I asked how he got to be a professor, he said he purchased his own Heating, Ventilation & A/C company with mom and dad’s help. He was one of their greatest competitors. I knew mom and dad were right about needing these classes, within an hour of the first class. I didn’t know half as much about Heating, Ventilation & A/C as I thought I knew. It was going to be a long six months, and I was looking forward to it.
