My basic routine with my family

When I get up in the morning, the first thing I usually do is brew some coffee.

Then I go to the thermostat and adjust the temperature control settings to a comfortable temperature.

I then take a quick shower so that I can get started with my day. When I get my first cup of coffee, I usually turn on the news so I can see what’s going on and what the weather will be like outside for the day. This is important so I know what my kids should be wearing to school. I wake up my kids, if they aren’t up already which they usually aren’t. They usually whine and moan a little before they finally get up, but then they get dressed and ready for school. After the news, I will let them watch their morning cartoons until it’s time to go out to the bus. I will tell them if they need to wear something warm if it’s nippy outside or if it’s too hot to wear something cool. Oftentimes they can tell already though because of my choice for the temperature control settings. If I have the A/C on, they will assume it’s hot outside. If I have the heating system on, they will know it’s likely very cold outside. It’s not easy being a single parent, but at least I am able to work from home so I don’t have to commute to a job. I just go to my home office and get to work on my computer. The kids eat breakfast and lunch at school, and I fix them something good to eat every evening for dinner.
