I was just sitting there staring at my dying fire in the fireplace. I put on the last couple of wood logs that I had only a few hours previously and they were about to be finished. This was really sad to me, not because I was going to freeze to death from no source of heating, but because I loved sitting in front of the fireplace reading my books. With no actual fire in the fireplace, it would not be the same. Since I was not able to get anymore firewood for the fireplace, I decided to walk to the temperature control and adjust the settings. I put the temperature control on heating mode and set it to a comfortable setting. Within minutes, the heated air started flowing through the ductwork. The whole house would be nice and toasty, and not just the area around the fireplace. I might want to consider getting something like HVAC zone control in the future, so that I can heat and cool the areas that actually need it. That’s another reason why the fireplace is so appealing to me, I can just heat that one area and not worry about every other place in the household. I just wish I had a bigger wood supply, but at least I was able to make it through a large part of the winter with what I had.
