Lately, it has been really hot at work. I do office work, so I am sitting down all day, but I still work up a sweat. The problem is, so does everyone else. This makes the whole office smell like a locker room. By the end of the workday, I just want to go home, take a shower, and relax in front of the air conditioner vents. I don’t know what is up with the air conditioner at work though. Several of us have complained and management just says that the air conditioner is doing all that it can to keep up with this heat wave. Be that as it may, it was not anywhere near this hot last year in the office despite all of the heatwaves. There is no reason for the air conditioner not to be able to keep the office cool no matter how hot it is outside. I think that there is something wrong with the air conditioner and that management is too cheap to pay for an HVAC company to come out, tell us what is wrong, and then fix it. I don’t see how this can be legal. I guess I will have to contact OSHA and find out just what my rights are. Working in a comfortable work environment has got to be one of them, I am sure. If not, I guess I will have to find somewhere else to work. I wonder if you can filter job postings by how good their air conditioner works. Probably not but I really wish I could.
